Virtual reality – in assessment and rehabilitation
Mon 21 March, 2022 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm GMT
This event is online only
In the last few decades, virtual reality has been increasingly used in clinical psychology, including neuropsychology, because of its ability to create experiences that are very similar to those in real life and the possibility to maintain control over stimuli and therapeutic strategies that would otherwise not be possible in real life settings. This talk will discuss the latest developments concerning the use of virtual reality technology for the assessment and rehabilitation of cognitive processes such as attention, memory in various mental health conditions including dementia, stroke, anxiety, and depression. Finally, the talk will include a critical discussion about the benefits of using virtual reality versus classical tools and techniques.
