BRLSI General Manager

Full-time, permanent role, starting in January 2024

BRLSI are looking for a General Manager to lead the operational and commercial activities of the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI) in order to strengthen our commercial activities and to provide a stable platform for implementing a crucial stage of strategic development.

The Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI) is a charity based in Bath and has an exceptional collection spanning 4.2 billion years of history, a world class programme of lectures and exhibitions and a rapidly growing set of virtual resources. Our vision for success powers our BRLSI Imaginations project to draw a wider and more diverse range of audiences to our heritage, to our activities, into our home in Bath’s Queen Square, and to build stronger foundations for all our futures in our Bicentenary year. A once in a lifetime opportunity for growing our audiences and income.

A contractor is sought to deliver project management, event organisational support and administrative help to our staff and volunteers to take forward these plans. In particular working with us to deliver new and more diverse audiences through development of the innovative and exciting activities we have planned; ensuring what we do follows a structured diversity plan and builds a sound platform for the future.

You should have a strong grasp of project management, events programme design and organisation, administration of third-party contractors, working in partnership with other cultural organisations and inspiring volunteers to deliver benefits of greater audiences and increased revenue from our heritage.
