All books are on display at the BRLSI Reception Desk at 16 Queen Square, Bath BA1 2HN, and if you treat yourself to a visit, you can test out your book before you commit.
And once you’ve read all the books in our display cabinet, BRLSI membership entitles you to join our members library where on a Saturday morning you can borrow all the books donated to BRLSI by past speakers over the years and chat to our friendly librarian. Membership also entitles the fiction lovers among you to join our monthly book club, The BRLSI Big Read for free. Each month BRLSI take a classic and have fun sharing it with likeminded friends who find they want to savor it one further time. Texts featured in the BRLSI Big Read have included The Great Gatsby, The Age of Innocence, The Pursuit of Love, Mrs Dalloway, Rogue Male, Beware of Pity, and Shakespeare’s Sonnets. Each Big Read Session lasts approximately one hour, and revolves around a 20 minute discussion of the novel by the session leader, before opening out to wider discussion with the group.
