Bath artist Matthew Cook worked as a war artist for the Times of London (among others) in both the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, creating numerous memorable images. In this recording of a live talk held on September 28th 2022 he describes his experiences in the two campaigns. He outlines the challenges of working as an artist when the bullets are flying all around and the practical and ethical considerations involved. The talk is illustrated with many examples of Matthew’s extraordinary work.
