The Good Life
Thu 22 June 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm BST
For millennia, philosophers have been asking what should be the good life. What should be my life goals? What should be my values? How should I best live my life? This is the so-called Socratic question.
Socrates and many of those who came after him had no hope of answering it because their only source was their own internal instincts. But we can do better than that by using results of science that were not available to the ancients. We can now understand the entire problem, sadly with results that may not please everyone. But, of course, truth cannot be the servant of desire.
