Build an ancestor biography with the Keepsake Family History app!
After a successful first session at BRLSI Keepsake returns and is open to everyone! Keepsake is a new app that turns family memories, records, and photos into beautifully crafted ancestor biographies. Read how it works here.
This free guided session will be led by Keepsake founders Sam & Sarah, who will show you how to turn a ‘box of memories’ about one ancestor into the beginnings of an immersive biography.
“That family history, lurking in the dark corners of your life, becomes illuminated and organised through this app. It’s a big relief to know it will be available for adding to as new information emerges.” – Jude, Keepsake Family History user
During the guided session you will:
- Download the Keepsake app
- Upload your photos, documents, and memories about one ancestor to the app
- The Keepsake story engine will transform these into editable chapters
- By the end of the session, you will have the beginnings of a digital life story you can continue at home and share once complete
As Keepsake is currently in its pre-launch testing phase, this workshop is being offered for free. In return, Sarah and Sam would be very grateful for participants’ feedback on the app, especially from people with an interest in family history, archives and storytelling.
Sarah and Sam met studying Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, later married, and started Keepsake because they kept returning to the same idea: family history is full of extraordinary lives, but too often those stories stay buried in boxes, hard drives and half-finished research. Keepsake is the family history project you’ll actually finish.
Keepsake is supported by the UEA Enterprise Centre’s ‘Grow It’ grant.
