German to English translation slam

Lisa Davey will host a live German to English translation event.  

Two members of the German Group will provide their translation of a passage provided by Lisa. The two participants will defend and explain their strategies to the audience who will discuss the challenges of the text and volunteer their solutions.

Lisa Davey has been working as a professional translator (German to English) since 1999. For the first five years of her career, she worked as an in-house translator for a translation agency in London. When she moved to Bath, she launched her business Creative Translation Works, specialising in texts for museums, publishers, and marketing purposes. She is also a part-time lecturer on post-graduate German translation courses (MAIT and TPLS) at the University of Bath.
