Text & Treasure: Behind the Scenes at Jane Austen’s House

October 2, 2020

Jane Austen’s House in Chawton, Hampshire, was her final home. Here her genius flourished and she revised, wrote and published her six beloved novels. Today, this modest, red brick house in a Hampshire village is an independent museum and the most treasured Austen site in the world. In this recording of a live online talk, join Sophie Reynolds, Collections and Interpretation Manager at Chawton, for a tour of the house through the ages – and a glimpse at some of its treasures. There’s a lively question and answer session towards the end.
