Labour Mobility in Transnational Europe

July 14, 2020

In this recording of a live online talk, Dr Gregory Schwartz from the University of Bristol looks at the current problems of transnational labour migration in an uneven and combined Europe. He explores how the gendered processes of production and ‘social reproduction’, and the crises they come up against, have necessitated east-west migration, and highlights the problems this creates for the migrants themselves, even as certain opportunities are drawn from migration by states, businesses and, temporarily, migrants themselves.
