Ichthyosaurs in 3D: Jurassic Ark

June 25, 2021

Dr Ben Moon from the Palaeobiology and Biodiversity Research Group at the University of Bristol is a leading researcher whose work is helping us better understand ichthyosaurs. These amazing marine predators were prevalent in the Jurassic era and fossilised remains have been found at the Strawberry Bank site in Somerset among other locations.

In this recording of an online talk Dr Moon explains how modern technology is allowing researchers to map the animals’ skulls in three dimensions, leading to new insights into their physiology and behaviour.
