French Women’s writing after May 1968

October 2, 2023

French Women’s Writing after May 1968 | Lecture by Dr Sandra Daroczi Monday 2nd October 2023, Queen Square, Bath.

This talk focuses on Monique Wittig’s work, setting her in the literary and socio-political contexts of the second half of the 20th century. Wittig was a French author, philosopher and feminist theorist and 2023 is a year that marks not only 20 years since her passing but 50 years since the publication of her seminal work, The Lesbian Body. While discussions re-emerge over what gender actually means, a timely talk which will appeal to you whether you are interested in semantics or society at large.

Dr Sandra Daroczi, Lecturer in French Studies, University of Bath
