Recent years have seen an increase in the number of disasters and long-term development issues, as well as their impact on human life and global economy. This increase is expected to be sustained due to the upward trends on urbanisation, population density, and climate change. This is a recording of a live talk by Dr Melih Celik from the University of Bath held on November 9th 2021. In it Dr Celik explores the impacts of such disruptive events on business-as-usual, investigates what constitutes humanitarian action, and looks at recent experiences from various parts of the world to manage the logistics of humanitarian relief.
