A Cluttered and Noisy Sky | Lecture by Dr Robert Massey Friday 3rd November 2023, Queen Square, Bath.

What will SpaceX’s launch of their satellite constellation Starlink, mean for the science of astronomy and our use of the sky? Starlink is a system that on its own could soon have more than thirty thousand spacecraft deployed, meaning humans could see up to four hundred thousand satellites in the sky by the end of this decade. A step change in our use of space, how will it affect those still stuck on planet earth? Dr Robert Massey is Deputy Executive Director of the Royal Astronomical Society.
