New Lifelong Learning course beginning soon – “Literature for Life”

‘Literature for Life’
Charlotte Brontë, Graham Greene, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Lawrence Sterne: four very different writers but all with experience of living abroad.  Taking one novel by each, we shall examine how the art of fiction explores and exposes some of the effects of being away from home and homeland.
The texts are Brontë’s  The Professor, Greene’s England Made Me,  Saint-Exupéry’s Night Flight and  Sterne’s A Sentimental Journey.
This is an accredited 10-week course run by the English Department of the University of Bristol and taught by an experienced Lifelong Learning tutor, Barbara Grodecka Lewis.
Meetings are on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12.15pm at BRLSI, starting 15 January.
The fee is £100.  Enrolment may be done online via the university’s  website:
