We have plenty of things for children to do this summer at BRLSI!

Suitable for kids aged 5+, our fun and free activities accompany our Riches of the Earth rocks and minerals exhibition and run throughout July and August. We also have a range of free online activities in our Family area.

All activities require parental supervision, but we will have helpers on hand for a range of activities too. Dates for your diary are as follows;

July & August, Monday to Saturday, 10am-4pm:

• Visit our exhibition Riches of the Earth and take part in our Magic Mineral Trail. When you’ve finished pick up your Dreamy Dragon Sticker!
• Have a go at our Mineral Treasure Hunt and see what you can find out about all the wonderful specimens in our exhibition.

August 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17,19,21 22, 24, 29, 31: 1pm-4pm

• Since our exhibition is all about rocks, we are going to be rock painting, and what’s more, when you’re done, we want you to find a home for your amazing work of art somewhere around Bath and send us some photos. We won’t pay a ransom to get your new friend back but we will post its picture on our social media channels. Just get your mum and dad to post the pics to Instagram using the hashtag #BRLSIROCKS or send your pictures to reception@brlsi.org.
• Make your own set of Top Trump style cards based on the minerals and rocks in our exhibition.
• The other thing we want you to do is build a stone stack and see how high you can build it before it falls over! So you’re allowed to make a mess AND you’re allowed to knock things over (in a controlled manner) – how much better does it get?!
