Other Information

In dry weather the body (thallus) of this species is greyish-brown and cracked with the appearance of dried mud. The fruiting bodies (perithecia) are small black pimples with a minute pore through which the spores are ejected. When wet it is a greenish-brown and difficult to differentiate from V.viridula, which is similar but with smaller fruiting bodies.
