Other Information

Erect, without stipules; alternate leaves on main stems; capsules with hemispherical warts about as wide as long; 2 glands on cyathia rounded on outer edge - Mike Williams. The wide white stripe on the leaves is quite distinctive. The leaf shape is different to that of E platyphyllos, and leaves of that species are toothed along the edges. These don’t look toothed. In keys though, they only really separate on whether they are annual and single stemmed or perennial and multi-stemmed. A young E oblongata might have only one stem, but they are usually tufted plants. - Helena Crouch.
