Other Information

This species is scarce nationally but quite frequent along the River Avon. Like the other large dragonflies it often travels well away from water to hunt. Teneral means immature. Colours of dragonflies and damselflies tend to change slightly as they mature. The rather orange wings are an indication that it has recently emerged - Rob Randall.
