Other Information

Sometimes grown in rockeries or pots. Seems to have spread from nearby basement paving. Originally thought to be Violet Cress (Cochlearia acaulis) but since identified as Corsican Mint (Mentha requienii). So not the first record for Somerset of the former species but the second record of the latter for North Somerset (VC6). The first was in paving at the American Museum. If you look online you will see that they are very similar, with the obvious difference that the mint has scented leaves. Should have spotted this - Rob Randall.
