Other Information

A very small annual but in such large quantities to dominate the turf. A more informative name is 'Scarious Mouse-ear', Scarious means papery and refers to the little bracts just below the flower stalks. They can just be seen in the close-up. Rarely seen in urban Bath although it does grow in a few places in hill-top pastures around the city.
