Other Information

Either this or Pilati's Yellow Stainer (A.pilatianus), which is a close relative. The strange table-like appearance was a feature of a number of specimens. Agaricus xanthodermus readily stains a bright yellow when bruised or damaged but these examples only produce a faint stain at the base of the stipe (stem).
