Ahead of our special event celebrating the work of Bob Dylan this Friday, Bath Royal are unravelling the tracklisting of one of his best known albums through objects in our collection. Can you tell which one it is yet?
Glorified by a Roman writer as ‘mother of stars, the parent of seasons and the mistress of all the world’, this woman inspired a cult that spread around the Mediterranean for several centuries. More recently, on the fifth day of May in the rain, she smiled in such a way it could drive a man to insanity. This drawing appears in ‘A History of Egyptian Mummies’ (1834) – from our wonderfully rich and diverse collection.
