Literature For Life

There are a few places still available for Literature for Life, a long-established Lifelong Learning course run by The University of Bristol’s Department of English.  The theme this year is Winds of Change.  In the Autumn Term we shall discuss Anthony Trollope The Warden (1855), George Sand Indiana (1832) and Henry James The Bostonians (1886). What can we discover in these novels about attitudes to social and political change and the idea of progress?

This is an 8-week course led by an experienced tutor, Barbara Grodecka Lewis. Meetings are on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 12.15pm at BRLSI, starting 14 October (no meeting on 28 October).  The fee is £115. Enrolment may be done online via the university’s website:  http://www.bristol.ac.uk/english/part-time/shorts.html. If you have any difficulties in enrolling please contact english-lifelong@bristol.ac.uk or phone 0117 928 8924.
