In this talk, John Sandford will explore the cultural and social issues that influenced the development of Progressive Rock Music in the late 1960s and early 70s and how those same influences ultimately led to its waning popularity. Using musical examples, John will illustrate the close relationship that this genre has with classical music forms and debates what the future holds for progressive rock music.
