SORRY THIS COURSE IS SOLD OUT. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR DETAILS HERE AND WE WILL CONTACT YOU WITH DETAILS OF THE NEXT COURSE.

Join us on a journey as we explore just a handful of beautiful embroidery techniques from across the ages and continents. Whether your interest is purely creative, or you’d like to learn more ways to rejuvenate faded favourites, this course has both in spades.

From a practical perspective, we will look at historical black work technique of the Tudors and the delicate embroidery of the Georgians; the best ways to embroider lettering by hand; a couple of fashion-relevant styles of Japanese and Mexican embroidery, and finally drawn thread and cut work.

What you will learn, week by week:
 1.  Classic Regency embroidery
 2.  Lettering
 3.  Japanese Sashiko and Hitomezashi
 4.  Blackwork and cross stitch
 5.  Mexican Pepenado
 6.  Drawn thread and cutwork

Course runs for 6 weeks on Thursdays 19 & 26 February & 5, 12, 19, 26 March.

Led by Anna Chapman-Andrews of Lovemakers Cafe – for more info see here.
