**Live** ‘Electric Flight – the Bristol VTOL Project’

The ‘Vertical Aerospace’ company, based in Bristol, is developing electric aircraft with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). The talk will describe the company’s work to date, including the two predecessor prototypes and the recently unveiled flagship aircraft, VA-1X. With a focus on how each programme stemmed from developing a safe and emission-free aircraft, it will cover Vertical’s approach towards; battery weight, power, duration, payload and how to build an extremely high performing aircraft able to connect entire regions as well as carrying out shorter missions across single cities. Further talking from experience, the speaker will outline how companies are turning ideas on the drawing board into working machines in the skies.
