Big Read: The Europeans by Henry James

Diana White will lead a discussion on a Henry James early novella, The Europeans, which covers some of his early themes, such as differences in American and English character and the impact of European culture on Americans.

The five discussion questions are:

1 – Did the characters, Felix and Eugenia, ring true and did you like them?

2 – What was your impression of the Wentworth family?

3 – Did you admire Gertrude?

4 – Did you feel that the ending of the book was unrealistic?

5 – Did you enjoy The Europeans?
