Bath & the campaign for women’s rights
Mon 14 February, 2022 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm GMT
This event is live at Queen Square only (not online).
When we think about the city of Bath and the history attached to this World Heritage city, the women’s rights movement is perhaps not something that immediately springs to mind. However, the city of Bath was a locality that certainly played a significant part in the campaign for votes for women. This talk will be guided by evidence presented by the local newspaper, the Bath Chronicle, and the diaries left by suffragette Mary Blathwayt, to uncover the suffrage and anti-suffrage campaigning that took place in Bath during the years 1866-1914.
