

Sport & Gender: Lessons from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup

This FREE talk is hosted by the Centre for Equality in Sport, Physical Activity and Health at University of Bath. The event is free, but places are limited. Please complete the registration form via the link below secure your place.
During this free event, we’ll reflect on some of the biggest talking points from the tournament and what it might mean for the sport and gender equality on and off the pitch.
The event will include a keynote from Emeritus Professor David Rowe – (Western Sydney University, Australia) – “Kiss of Death? Gender and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup”.
There will also be talks from Bath academics:
Dr Luke Jones – “Navigating the coaching context in contemporary women’s football”
Jess Harvey, PhD Researcher – “Conversations around menstruation and sport: Breaking the taboo?”
This is a public event which will include a panel discussion and Q&A led by Professor Emma Rich, Professor of Physical Activity and Health Pedagogy.
