Marianne North – Intrepid Victorian Artist

Those with a passion for art can lose themselves in the amazing array of botanic oil paintings, completed by Marianne North, who defied Victorian convention to travel for fourteen years around the world.

In an upcoming BRLSI talk, Gina Merrett-Smith will showcase many of Marianne North’s paintings and give details of her fascinating life, travels, acquaintances and most importantly, her connection with Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
