**Live** Coordination in a Crisis; the Challenges with Delivering Humanitarian Aid

The talk will describe the challenges when delivering humanitarian aid to people in need across the world. Drawing on personal experience, Simon will talk through how Médecins Sans Frontières operates in the field and share a few of the dilemma’s experienced.

Simon Tyler, Médecins Sans Frontières

Simon has spent the last 20 years working in remote regions of world. He began life as a conservation biologist managing large research and development expeditions (Central America & SE Asia) contributing to protected area management. He then moved into the humanitarian sector and specifically project and mission management with MSF.
Since 2008, Simon has worked in Darfur, South Sudan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Myanmar, latterly as a Head of Mission in both emergency response and longer-term medical and humanitarian management. In between missions, he has worked for the office in London in various positions such as Project Manager for recruitment (Tunisia & Jordan), Head of the Program Unit and Covid Response Coordinator for all MSF operations in the UK earlier this year. He now works for MSF India office on an internal management project.
