Heinrich Bolls – Die Verlorene Ehre Der Katharina Blum
Led by Sabine Purshouse
Thu 20 June
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm BST
£3.00 – £6.00Join the Bath German Society for a discussion of the novella Die verlorene Ehre der Katharina Blum (1974), one of the most widely read works of post WW2 German fiction, both in German and in English translation (The Lost Honour of Katharina Blum).
Its author, Heinrich Böll, was renowned for his controversial views, but won many prizes, including the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1972. In this story he attacks newspapers hunting for sensational stories without regard for the individuals concerned, whose lives they may destroy.
The discussion will be led by Sabine Purshouse and will be in German.
