Hannah More: film screening and Q&A

A screening of the film Hannah More, followed by a Q&A with the producer, Anthea Page and lead actor, Lily Maryon.

Who was Hannah More? A film screening at BRLSI tells the story of a Bristol-born philanthropist, poet, and playwright who became a leading figure in the Bluestocking circle, and who belonged to a group opposing the Slave Trade.

A Q&A with the film’s lead actor and producer will take you through the journey of the filmmaking process, from script to screen. Looking at how the film was conceived, funded and reached its completion. The producer will outline the challenges facing a low budget production, how these were overcome and how difficult it is to make a full-length feature film without the support of a major production company, especially when the film is a period drama, requiring accurate costumes props and locations.

An informative and entertaining evening both for those interested in Hannah More, and in the nature of biopic itself.
