Event Series: Eco Talks at BRLSI

How do we build a sustainable future? If you’re looking for something to inspire you this season ‘Eco Talks at BRLSI ‘ delivers inspiring and thought provoking content on the issue of climate change and conservation. Continuing with Sustainable finance and transition momentum with author and expert on Sustainable finance Cary Krosinsky, BRLSI will deliver monthly talks and films exploring how to best futureproof the planet against rising global challenges.

Societal challenges are becoming more serious and complex.  Whether the effects on jobs from the rise of AI, or looming climate change effects and extreme weather among other environmental realities being experienced on the ground around the world, the need for successful transitions is clear.

Necessary progress, however, has been lacking and is politically stymied; how can essential progress become fully enabled? Transition Momentum, the latest offering from Cary Krosinsky, provides critical insight into ways forward that can usher in a new age of transition sufficiency.

The book explores New Measures and Mechanisms, including a better GDP, which we call Transition Momentum.  GDP goals are insufficient for helping guide country level strategies with the need for simultaneous environmental and social outcomes in mind.   The future of knowledge is also considered, as well as how to truly enable transitions, with learnings from early attempts at corporate, investor and country level progress as well as the future of the COP Process in mind. We also provide insight from leading thinkers we greatly respect, as there are many important perspectives to consider when it comes to getting transitions right and no one person or country likely has the full answer.  We are stronger when learning from each other, listening and collaborating for mutually achieved success, including economically and financially.
