BRLSI Collections Revealed: Members’ Evening

Join us for a special members-only evening exploring the fascinating world behind the scenes of the BRLSI Collections.

Collections Manager Matt Williams and members of the volunteer team will be on hand to answer your questions and share stories from the Institution’s remarkable holdings; 150,000 artefacts, specimens and books gathered over two centuries.

This informal event is a rare opportunity to find out more about the work that goes on in the Collections area and to hear about the provenance and history of a selection of lesser-known BRLSI objects that are not normally on display.

The evening begins at 7pm and will include a relaxed mix of Q&A, short talks from the Collections team, and the chance to learn how some of our intriguing objects became part of the BRLSI story. There will also be plenty of time to chat with Matt, the volunteers and fellow members over a drink.

Whether you are curious about how the collections are cared for, interested in the stories behind unusual objects, or simply keen to meet other members, this friendly and informal gathering offers a unique chance to discover more about one of BRLSI’s most important and intriguing resources.

Tickets are free (though donations are always welcomed!) and must be booked in advance. Please book your place in the normal way below or come into Queen Square and book a ticket over the counter (one member, one ticket!).
