Finished your A levels and thinking about drama college as your next step? Becoming an actor is no an easy feat and it might be you need a little help on your way. Becoming an Actor is an event hosted in partnership with BRLSI’s Academy of Imagination, the Theatre Royal Bath and the Bath Theatre Academy. The aim is to offer an interactive workshop and panel discussion which will highlight the many options open to young people who wish to train as a professional actor, without doubt, one of the most competitive career options out there.
But what sort of training do you need to maximise your chance of success, and what might your life look like? A panel of actors will discuss the options, reflect on their own experience, and provide helpful advice on the audition process and taking the first steps towards a professional life as an actor.
Our event partners Theatre Royal Bath will be presenting their Ralph Fiennes Season and a special guest from the As You Like It company will be in attendance on the day. The panel will also include Feargus Woods Dunlop from comedy troupe New Old Friends who regularly perform at the Theatre Royal, Katie Owen, Associate Artist of Emma Rice’s company Wise Children and Tanvi Virmani, who played Miranda in Deborah Warner’s celebrated production of The Tempest.
