Queen Charlotte & the Women’s Transatlantic Networks

February 25, 2021

Queen Charlotte was a learned woman. She lived in an era of Anglo-American women’s intellectual and literary accomplishment, and she encouraged women writers. This talk shows how their work crossed the Atlantic, and how it entered into politics at the highest levels in America and in Britain. The Georgian Papers Programme is digitising and interpreting materials at the Royal Archives, including letters and diaries of Queen Charlotte and women in her court.
