The Literature and Humanities group at the BRLSI has run for many years, presenting varied talks covering mainly prose literature, drama and music, with some cross-reference to the visual arts and general history.
Speakers as high profile as Robert Morrison, Hermione Lee, Christopher Frayling and Jonathan Bate have come to talk on literary matters at BRLSI, and an occasional feature of Lit and Hum since 2010 has been the running of day-long or two-day symposia, collections of related talks on an overall theme, from different angles. This year’s digital symposium “A New Worldview: Vienna’s Contribution to European Culture 1890 to 1935” met with great success and attracted audiences from across the globe. Keep an eye on our events page or subscribe to our weekly booking schedule for exciting topics arriving as part of the forthcoming programme.
