The Amazing World of Trees

Date Description
05 October 2017

Exhibition of the work of Bath Society of Botanical Artists

For the past two years members of The Bath Society of Botanical Artists have been studying and painting trees.  This has resulted in about seventy paintings depicting various aspects of our wonderful, diverse trees and these are to be exhibited in Bath in October.

The society was formed in 2002 and now has about forty members living in and around the Bath area, several of whom have won National and International awards for their work.   They meet weekly to paint and learn more about plants.

This new exhibition will be opened on the 5th October by Andrew Smith, Director at Westonbirt Arboretum, and it is hoped, will inform people of the importance of our trees and woodlands for our own well-being and how vital they are for biodiversity and for the survival of our wildlife in general.

As part of the exhibition, Alan Power, Garden and Estate Manager at Stourhead, will give a talk ‘My life with trees and theirs with me’ on 13th October at 7.30pm at the same venue.
