How can a firm’s business model help or hinder its sustainable development? Dr Bradley presents a new way of investigating this fundamental business issue, applying this technique to a case study of an energy provider, allowing a rich understanding of the energy company’s design for sustainable development. The application of this new framework yields fresh insights into the interaction between different types of value (social, environmental and economic) and how context shapes value creation and capture. As a result, the emerging paradigms and interdependencies demonstrate capabilities for producing new solutions for sustainable development.
