BRLSI World Affairs - Wealth and the Super Rich

Date Description
16 October 2018

Professor Jonathan Beaverstock, University of Bristol

Oxfam’s (2018) report, Reward Work, Not Wealth, claims that, “82% of all wealth created in the last year went to the top 1%.” Since the 2007 global financial crisis, never has the spotlight been shone so brightly on the so-called super-rich. But, inexplicably, there remains a dearth of thinking on super-rich capitalism in economy and society.
