Date Description

7.30pm £4/£2

As a foul weather painter, drawn to the periphery of the land, Janette Kerr’s paintings and drawings push at the boundaries between representation and abstraction. Dividing her time between Shetland and Somerset, she has been a visiting artist to the Meteorological Institute in Bergen, Norway, linking art and science. In this talk, she will discuss her recent travel on a tall ship that ventured around the coast of Svalbard in the High Arctic, a fragile land of ice and water that has made a significant impact upon her creative practice.
