This single edged sabre originates from Afghanistan. It combines elements of Persian, Mongol and Turkish designs which culminated with an all metal hilt of characteristic form; two short and decorative quillons pointing towards the blade and a cup-shaped and facetted pommel.

The BRLSI example has a typical blade, slightly curved and stamped with star shaped markings.
