Looking at the Brain: Brain Scans and brain waves

11 March 2014

Prof Roland Jones
Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology, University of Bath
Have you ever wondered what your brain looks like? How do your brain cells communicate?
What does a healthy brain look like and what happens in  disease? Researchers use brain scan images and recordings of electrical activity to understand the function of the brain. This knowledge helps inform drug development to treat diseases like Alzheimer’s, depression, epilepsy and drug abuse.
In this talk, Prof Roland Jones will explain how recent research in understanding the way the brain works can be used to  develop new drug treatments.
