Since the 1980s onwards, one of the most significant and controversial developments in European politics has been the rise in electoral support for Radical Right parties. From Scandinavia to the Mediterranean and from the Benelux countries to the post-communist nations, the Radical Right has made advances in national, local and European electoral settings. The talk seeks to unravel the reasons for the rise in prominence of such parties such as the French Front National, The Austrian Freedom Party and the Dutch Party for Freedom.
