Heritage Open Day

All BRLSI Heritage Day events are free and open to all

  • Building and exhibition open between 10am and 4pm
  • BRLSI building fully open for public to explore with volunteers on hand to talk to you about the characteristics of one of the most interesting historic buildings in Queen Square.
  • 10.45am - Local newscaster Richard Wyatt talks about his favorite and rather quirky object in the BRLSI’s current exhibition; a bottle of brandy purportedly from the barrel in which Admiral Lord Nelson’s body travelled from Trafalgar back to England with some sea shanties alongside

  • 11am - Coffee Salon in style of 18th Bluestocking Salon
  • 2pm - Family Handling Session of prehistoric and geological specimens from the BRLSI collection.
  • 2pm-3pm - Weaponry expert Brian Godwin on hand to talk through some of the antique weaponry in the ‘Chosen’  exhbition.
