Alone on a Wide, Wide Sea 54 days on the Pacific Ocean

17 September 2015

In the summer of 2014, Elsa set out to row across the Pacific Ocean from California to Hawaii but was forced by currents, bad weather and broken equipment to detour towards Mexico, finally accepting assistance to land as tropical cyclones started to build in the area. She took samples of seawater for research into micro-plastics throughout the row, saw whales, albatross and great white sharks, and experienced the vastness of the open ocean.
