Mayor of Bath praises BRLSI for providing community events that lifted us in lockdown!

The Mayor of Bath attended not one, not two, but three virtual BRLSI events recently and praised the community feel they offer at a time when it has been all too easy to feel alone. The right worshipful Manda Rigby who attended in turn Sabine Purhouse’s lecture on the City of Bath in literature, our regular Saturday virtual coffee morning and our BRLSI Big read on Maggie’ o Farrell’s Hamnet to mark Shakespeare’s birthday saw the BRLSI as providing a genuine community asset at the time when the city needs it most.

Despite all our events having been online for the past year, whether online or in-house BRLSI virtual events are still community events and there are plentiful opportunities at the end of each virtual lecture to ask questions and chat with the speaker and other audience members if you wish to do so!

And if you attend one of our virtual weekend coffee mornings, plenty of chance to eat cake with the Mayor of Bath too!
