Large scale facsimiles of Stefan Zweig's
letters line the wall. These panels consist
of opal glass backlit by tungsten lighting.
Preparation of the wall :
Prepares the wall for pictures of the
recipients of, Zweig's letters; displayed
on the lectern below. These include the
pantheon of German letters and scientist
Albert Einstein.
The first lecture. Sunday 9th.Feb'97
Professor Ian Wallace introduces the
pre-exhibition lecture. This is the first
public event of the exhibition. The four
weeks of the exhibition will include a
further two public lectures.
Pre-exhibition lecture on "Stefan Zweig-
a European from Austria" delivered by Dr. Erhard Busek.
Dr Busek was Deputy Chancellor of
Austria from 1991 to 1995. He is editor
of the monthly newspaper Wiener Journal
and Chairman of the Institute for the
Danube Region and Central Europe.
