EXHIBITIONS National Science Week 24 and 25 March 2001 at Green Park Station A large number of stalls in Green Park Station provided a wide range of activities for passers-by to try-out from building a structure with spaghetti to suffering the effect of a time delay on the ability to read out loud. Like last year, hundreds of people stopped to try out the various challenges and learnt something about science whilst doing so.
SWITZERLAND THROUGH THE EYES OF THE ARTIST 27 September - 3 October 2001 This event was organised jointly by the Bath German Society and Angela Weyersberg, artist and member of the BRLSI, and exhibited the works of Liliana Brosi, Aldo Bachmayer, Rudolf Calonder, Emmi Schmucki, and Angela Weyersberg. Sponsored by the Swiss Embassy and the Swiss Cultural Fund in Britain, the exhibition also marked the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Bath German Society, which meets regularly at the BRLSI to promote cultural awareness of the German-speaking world. The official opening of the exhibition by the Mayor of Bath, Councillor Marian McNeir, was followed by a discussion with the artists, held in German. This was moderated by Professor Ian Wallace, who introduced the artists with their different backgrounds and their specific interests.
